Shared Reading Project: Evaluating Implementation Processes and Family Outcomes

Author: Linda Delk, Ph.D., and Lisa Weidekamp, B.S.W.

The Shared Reading Project (SRP) is built on the premise that hearing people can learn to read storybooks to deaf and hard of hearing children by observing how deaf adults do it. The evaluation of the project focused on the implementation of shared reading in diverse settings, the populations being served, and the short-term outcomes for families. Information was evaluated to support SRP training courses and to lay the foundation for evaluating the long-term impact of the project on children's reading.

This is a Sharing Results paper. The "Sharing Results" series comprises occasional papers that describe the results of work undertaken by the Clerc Center.
